Nutrition Specialist
Job description:
· Administers and implements nutrition services for pregnant mothers and children from infancy through age 5.
· Reviews nutrition assessments, works with Teachers and families to ensure special dietary needs are addressed as needed, and promotes child well-being through nutrition education activities for children and families.
· Creates a cycle menu for children ensuring all Child Care Food Program requirements are met for infancy through preschool aged children.
· Orders appropriate food quantities through a food supply company.
· Provides annual and orientation training for cooks including training on food safety, sanitation and nutrition education.
· Monitors kitchens to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
· Requires accurate data entry and data management skills to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
· Works as part of a collaborative team with other Head Start Specialists.
· Must be able to work independently, possess good time management and organizational skills, work well with children and families, and have the ability to problem solve.
· Must be a registered Dietician or Nutritionist.
· Travel within 5 counties is required.
Full year position begins immediately.

Pay: $52,500.00 - $57,964.00 per year
